Dropbox Unveils New Tools at DBX Conference
On July 9, Dropbox hosted DBX, its first developer conference, where the company announced “a new suite of tools that fundamentally simplifies how developers can build across devices and platforms.”The Datastore API (application programming interface) builds on Dropbox’s other APIs Sync and Core to update files both online and offline. Users can shift between mobile tasks in the Dropbox app and files on a computer, and all of the files will be updated and synced as soon as an internet connection is established. New drop-ins Chooser and Saver allow users to access all of the facets of their Dropbox accounts instantly. The Chooser was launched last year but is now available for Android and Apple mobile devices. It helps developers build simple interfaces for their files. The Saver allows for one-click saving to Dropbox. Dropbox currently has more than 175 million users who sync more than 1 billion files per day. Source: Dropbox
