Clickability and Inform Join Forces

Inform’s artificial intelligence and natural language-based technology uses proprietary rules and algorithms to scan millions of pages of content and to identify topics and articles that are similar and relevant to each other. Based on these relationships, the Inform technology creates editorial-quality links within online articles that provide one-click access to new, automatically generated, topic-specific pages, pulling together articles, videos, blog posts, and other content on a given subject.

By providing these links and pages, Inform can help a media Web site become deeper and more compelling, engaging visitors to spend more time using it. This can result in more readers and more page views, and thus more revenue, as well as an improved ability to compete effectively with search engines and other sites.

Thomson Scientific Introduces Data Platform for Biological Researchers

BONDplus provides an intuitive and value-added resource for any researcher by uniting the genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic research communities around one comprehensive platform. The subscription service provides information from the assembled resources including BINDplus and GENESEQ in addition to precomputed data sets with BLAST functionality, visualization tools, and more than 80 million public domain sequences. Thomson provides primary, secondary, and tertiary data types, ranging from proteins and small molecules to gene and protein expression and more complex data types such as toxicology/efficacy data, biomarker, interaction, and pathway information.Source: Thomson Scientific

STN announces STN AnaVist 2.0

STN AnaVist works with STN Express, version 8.2, to analyze content from STN, the online service for science and technology. Now, in addition to analyzing search results from the multidisciplinary CAplus database and the patent databases USPATFULL and PCTFULL, the new version of STN AnaVist analyzes content from DWPI, a database from Thomson Scientific that provides information on patent publications from the 41 most important patent-issuing authorities of the world.

STN AnaVist enhancements, version 2.0, enable users to take advantage of new clustering fields, including Technology Indicators, Exemplary/First Claim, All Claims, and International Patent Classification (IPC) Codes, and customize visualization using combinations of text fields. Users can create a variety of new bar charts based on DWPI Class, DWPI Manual Codes, Labels, and Patent Country Codes/Kind Codes. It also provides new document-highlighting features, enhanced document management, and enhanced views of the research landscape with new 2-D displays with white or black backgrounds.
