iCopyright Upgrades Its Licensing System

The company said it had released enhancements to the integrated iCopyright and Clip&Copy platform every month for the last 10 months and that this release was a significant leap forward. The iCopyright service currently handles thousands of online permissions every day for publishers worldwide. iCopyright has generated millions of dollars in new licensing revenue for publishers who have added the iCopyright tag to their content. The complete suite of iCopyright services includes ad-supported, no-fee permissions for limited printing and emailing; instant permissions for email distribution, photocopies, republication, and excerpting; customized reprints and eprints; and convenient reader services.

Ex Libris Releases MetaLib Version 4.00

Topic clusters and author, date, and journal title facets are generated on-the-fly. This is designed to provide users with a powerful new navigation tool and deepened insight into their information searches. Search results are relevancy ranked and automatically merged into a single display with duplicates detected and highlighted for the user.

This new version of MetaLib features a fully accessible user interface that complies with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, level A, and Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d). Enhanced interoperability capabilities through the MetaLib X-Server offer libraries even more options for integrating MetaLib into their own environments—Web sites, portals, and courseware-management systems or virtual-learning environments.

With direct access to the SFX A-Z list of journals through the MetaLib user interface, users can take advantage of advanced SFX search functionality, browsing options, and preassigned or local ejournal categories. The expansion of the MetaLib knowledgebase in this version enables users to access a variety of new resources of global and regional interest—reference databases, econtent repositories, library catalogs, Web-based subject gateways, and more.

EBSCOhost Adds GalleryWatch CRS Reports

The GalleryWatch CRS Reports database includes abstracts and the PDF full text for more than 25,000 CRS Reports and is updated daily, enabling researchers to keep track of issues as they are presented and discussed in the ever-changing environment of Capitol Hill. Content spans from 1993 to the present and covers a range of subject areas including economics, the environment, foreign affairs, immigration, medicine, civil rights, national security, terrorism, and more. Current and archived versions of each report are included, providing comprehensive coverage of edits and amendments.
