Inmagic Partners with Northern Light
Inmagic, Inc. (http://www.inmagic.com), a developer of knowledge management and special library software, has announced a partnership with search and content-integration solutions provider Northern Light Technology, LLC, (http://www.northernlight.com). The partnership introduces IntelliMagic, a business intelligence application that knowledge managers can use within the enterprise. IntelliMagic seamlessly merges internal and external business intelligence news and information into a single interface while providing Web-publishing capabilities that don't require knowledge of HTML or other coding.By allowing knowledge managers to merge breaking news and other external content with contextually relevant internal content, the IntelliMagic system provides an on-demand information snapshot. Knowledge managers can now easily tailor information to individual end-user needs. Based on Inmagic.net, a proprietary Inmagic system and technology that allows knowledge managers to purchase information online and automatically download metadata into the catalog, the IntelliMagic system is built with a series of customizable and easy-to-use information-presentation templates and screens. LexisNexis to Acquire CourtLink
LexisNexis (http://www.lexisnexis.com) and CourtLink Corp. (http://www.courtlink.com), a leading provider of Web-based services for electronically filing legal documents and accessing and monitoring court records, have jointly announced that they have finalized the terms of a definitive agreement in which LexisNexis will acquire CourtLink. CourtLink will continue to operate from its Bellevue, Washington, headquarters after the acquisition and will be a separate business unit of LexisNexis.Henry Givray, chairman, president, and CEO of CourtLink, will remain as a key member of the transition team through March 2002. Ann Fullenkamp, senior vice president of emerging markets at LexisNexis, will become chief operating officer of CourtLink after the acquisition is finalized. She said, "The synergies between LexisNexis and CourtLink are strong and will benefit the customers of both companies as well as the legal and business communities." According to the announcement, CourtLink is the first company to create a single online platform for both electronically accessing records and filing documents with the courts. In Colorado, CourtLink has also developed and operates the first and only statewide e-filing system. CourtLink electronic access services allow users to search and retrieve case information from more than 200 million court records in 1,400 federal, state, and local court systems through a single online source.
