OCLC Helps Unify Colombia Libraries With New Discovery Catalog
OCLC unveiled Colombia Discovery Catalog, “a group catalog that improves libraries’ visibility within Colombia by providing a unified view of collections across libraries, and facilitates the sharing of these library resources among Colombian institutions.” It’s built on the WorldCat Discovery platform.“OCLC has partnered with distributor Referencistas to help Colombian libraries showcase their unique collections on a national scale by participating in the Colombia Discovery Catalog,” OCLC shares. “The Colombia Discovery Catalog marks a pivotal step in unifying Colombia’s library landscape, expanding access to resources, and fostering collaboration across institutions,” says Daniel Boivin, OCLC’s executive director for Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Sage Sells Lean Library to a Management Group
Sage announced that it “sold Lean Library—a suite of tools that streamlines access to library content and services—to a management group bringing deep product expertise, entrepreneurial leadership, and an agile, tech-first operating model.” The company notes, “This acquisition enables Sage to continue its mission as a key enabler of resources that advance scholarship, fostering critical thinking, and building career skills, while Lean Library continues to concentrate on developing technologies that support rigorously created research and resources.” Daniel Horvath will continue in his role as director at Lean Library; he “will oversee a seamless transition and ensure smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining uninterrupted service for customers and end-users.” For more information, read the press release.
Digital Science and Kharon Form a Strategic Partnership to Provide Risk Mitigation
