FIZ Karlsruhe, TIB Hannover Launch GetInfo Service
FIZ Karlsruhe and TIB Hannover have announced the launch of GetInfo, a service that will offer electronic and print publications in all areas of science and technology. GetInfo provides all of today's publication forms, delivery systems, and models of sci-tech specialist literature through a single source.GetInfo combines library lending; journal article sales; subscription models; free publications from universities, institutes, and companies; and individual literature provision through experienced specialists. Its full-text server supplies digitized documents and convenient search options using the content's bibliographic data. Scientific authors and publishers can submit their documents directly to GetInfo for indexing, online availability, long-term archiving, and marketing. Currently, 50,000 journals can be accessed through the service. Using the GetInfo "Browse eJournals" functionality, customers can conveniently browse the indices of these journals for free. GetInfo cooperates with national and international universities and research institutions with the purpose of making available technical research literature. This gray literature, which is not readily accessible through commercial bookselling channels, comprises German research reports, papers from universities and research institutions, conference proceedings, dissertations, and relevant preprints and reports. ISI, Swets Blackwell Announce Linking Agreement
ISI and Swets Blackwell have announced a linking agreement that will provide users with extended access to research and development literature. The full-text content in Swets Blackwell's SwetsnetNavigator e-journal service will increase ISI's full-text links to scholarly journals. Users will be able to seamlessly link from the ISI Web of Science and ISI Current Contents Connect components of the ISI Web of Knowledge to the full text of journal articles available in SwetsnetNavigator."We are extremely pleased that with this agreement we can give our customers something they've been eagerly awaiting," said Yvonne Campfens, director of publisher relations and marketing at Swets Blackwell. "Linking between two such market leaders as Swets Blackwell and ISI is further evidence that SwetsnetNavigator's ‘open' system is precisely that." "Linking to the e-journal collection in SwetsnetNavigator will further enrich the depth of content available through ISI Web of Knowledge," said Phil Heller, senior director of linkage business development at ISI.
