Pfizer Chooses Kudos to Showcase Its Medical Publications
Kudos signed a multiyear agreement with Pfizer to increase the reach and engagement of Pfizer’s clinical research. Kudos will use its centralized platform to host clinical summaries and links to related content (peer-reviewed articles, infographics, videos, etc.) in the treatment areas of inflammation and immunology, internal medicine, and vaccines, with more treatment areas to follow. Pfizer will benefit from Kudos’ suite of metrics, which includes citation counts and audience insights.“This partnership reflects a shared ambition to improve the transparency and reach of medical publications,” says Charlie Rapple, Kudos’ co-founder. TLC Releases a Free Workbook to Help Schools Select and Implement a New LMS
The Library Corp. (TLC) introduced a comprehensive, free workbook (registration required) that will help school districts navigate the process of selecting and implementing a new library management system (LMS). It provides a structured, step-by-step guide for schools in evaluating their needs, preparing requests for proposals (RFPs), choosing vendors, and managing implementation from planning through going live. Library, education, and industry professionals developed the workbook as a tool to help school districts make decisions about updating their library services before their current LMS contract ends. Emerald Publishing Redesigns Its Content Platform
Emerald Publishing updated its Emerald Insight platform to prioritize accessibility and sustainability. The platform offers more than 400 journals, 7,000 books, 3,000 case studies, and a collection of open access content for a global audience. In partnership with Silverchair, Emerald developed the platform to provide flexibility and a more intuitive user experience.Key new features include: - Sustainability and accessibility enhancements through optimised use of colour, images, graphics, and vectors to support improved user journeys, more detailed filtering, and faster page load times. …

- Simplified Research Pass user experience for utilising tokens across book chapters and journal articles.

Digital Science Restarts the Scientometric Researcher Access to Data Program
Digital Science relaunched its Scientometric Researcher Access to Data (SRAD) program, which gives scientometrics researchers streamlined, no-cost access to Altmetric and Dimensions data as well as access to Dimensions on Google BigQuery (GBQ). SRAD is available to scientometrics researchers who are involved in noncommercial studies; it will help them more easily answer systemwide research questions about scholarly literature.“This program plays an important role in Digital Science’s commitment to open research and improving research,” says Kathryn Weber-Boer, who was appointed Digital Science’s director scientometrics—scientometric researcher engagement. “By expanding access to Dimensions on GBQ, we’re excited to enable scientometrics researchers to answer complex questions with big data, exploring and linking more datapoints, and connecting our world-leading Dimensions data to other open datasets.” For more information, read the blog post.
A Win for DEI: Lambda Legal Celebrates the Restoration of Funding for Nine LGBTQ+ Health and Support Services
Lambda Legal announced “that the federal government has restored more than $6.2 million in grant funding to nine organizations that offer vital health and support services for LGBTQ+ people, including those living with HIV” after a ruling in San Francisco AIDS Foundation v. Trump.Lambda Legal continues, “The legal win … and the restored funding protect the nine nonprofit organizations across the country from having to shutter programs or silence their advocacy for fear of losing critical federal support while the case proceeds. The ruling ensures organizations such as San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Los Angeles and New York LGBTQ Centers can continue to operate, advocate, serve people, and save lives without further censorship or threats to their funding.” For more information, read the news item.
