To help bridge the gap between research and policy, we are pleased to announce the release of the Web of Science Policy Citation Index, a new collection that adds reports, policy briefs and working papers from worldwide sources to the Web of Science platform. PEN America Explains Why English Shouldn't Be the Official Language of the U.S.
PEN America released a statement on the Trump administration’s plan to make English the country’s official language, which reads in part:Declaring one language as the official language of the United States is a fundamental affront to the founding democratic ideals of this country. The richness of America comes from the diversity of the people who live here, the cultures they celebrate, and the languages they use. Just as there has never been an official religion of the United States, there has also been no official language—part of the vision of this country since its founding.
