FAST Unveils New Version of FAST Data Search
Fast Search & Transfer (FAST) has unveiled FAST Data Search 3.2, the latest version of its real-time search solution that is designed for organizations seeking either departmental or enterprisewide solutions. FAST Data Search offers a comprehensive combination of real-time search technology, business search management tools, and information analysis capabilities. Offered as FAST Data Search Professional, FAST Data Search Enterprise, and FAST Data Search SST, the FAST Data Search product line expands the boundaries of traditional enterprise search with several new features. The Live Analytics feature enables "on-the-fly" data and information analysis with a dynamic drill-down capability, where end users can tap the specific information they need based on the actual data in the result set, rather than pre-defined binning of the data. Users can refine searches within the search result set, allowing for more precise searching and higher user satisfaction. The new Business Manager's Control Panel provides an easy-to-use interface for business managers to tune the search attributes of the data source to ensure specific user search queries return the best combination of results. This can optimize both the relevance for the end user and reflect business objectives, while freeing IT resources to concentrate on other tasks. Additional enhancements to this version of FAST Data Search include improvements to data capabilities, automatic document categorization, dynamic result clustering, and similarity based results analysis.
