The company will offer a legal research option on Microsoft Corp.'s new Research Task Pane featured in Microsoft Office Word 2003, Microsoft Office Excel 2003, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003.The Research Task Pane allows users to highlight words or phrases in a document and research that term from directly within the program. They can choose from a list of resources from third-party content providers, including encyclopedias, dictionaries, news sources, and LexisNexis legal research. Users who select LexisNexis will be able to match their search term against the company's free database of court decisions found on its lexisONE legal portal.
