LexisNexis Improves Collection of Medical Images
LexisNexis Legal & Professional added Netter Images, a library of medical illustrations, to LexisNexis MedMal Navigator. Medical malpractice lawyers can view more than 10,000 full-color, high-resolution images and illustrations covering medicine and health science, and they can use them to demonstrate human anatomy, injuries, or diseases that are relevant to their cases.For more information, read the press release.
Alexander Street Will Host Jisc Content
Alexander Street partnered with Jisc to allow the streaming video company to host a range of audiovisual collections that are licensed by Jisc. Academic institutions in the U.K. will be able to access content through the MediaPlus service, which will sit alongside Alexander Street’s other collections and be cross-searchable with them.For more information, read the press release.
New Ingram Academic Services Caters to Publishers

Chinese Company Buys Opera Browser
A Chinese consortium led by Golden Brick Silk Road acquired the Opera browser for $600 million. The purchase, which should close by the end of 2016, includes the browser’s mobile and desktop versions, performance and privacy apps, and a stake in a Chinese joint venture. Scientific Publisher CABI Starts OA Book Program
CABI (Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International) launched CABI Open Books, an OA book program for authors and collaborating organizations publishing in the applied life sciences and sustainable tourism fields. Ingenta Connect and TrendMD Raise Publishers' Visibility
Ingenta Connect and TrendMD released figures from the first few months of their partnership. The TrendMD recommendation widget was found to increase traffic to Ingenta publishers’ content by about 4.5% during the last month. Smaller publishers are seeing an even higher increase in overall traffic. Publishers in Ingenta’s sponsorship program have an average increase in traffic of 17%.For more information, read the blog post.
ppf Provides Subscription Management Services
ppf, a division of EBSCO Industries, signed an agreement with NACE International to provide NACE with subscription management services such as fulfillment, renewals, and reporting. SirsiDynix Expands Options for E-Resource Management
SirsiDynix introduced the Wheelers ePlatform connecter as a way to expand eResource Central (eRC) to the Asia-Pacific region. The Wheelers platform has more than 350,000 digital titles that can be integrated into eRC via an API. Wiley Takes Over Publication of Medical Physics Journals
Wiley and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) established a publishing partnership for AAPM’s journal portfolio. Starting in January 2017, Wiley will begin publishing AAPM’s flagship journal Medical Physics and the OA Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics.For more information, read the press release.
