Thomson Reuters set up a new innovation lab in Cape Town, South Africa. Thomson Reuters Labs--Cape Town will "engage with the region's vibrant innovation ecosystem and dynamic startup community to fuel growth and empower success for Thomson Reuters customers worldwide," according to the press release.

Baker & Taylor Signs Publishers to New Service

Baker & Taylor's Global Publishers Services, which launched in August 2016, signed its first group of publishers. Starting Jan. 2, 2017, it will distribute titles from four new companies.

ReadCube Adds Taylor & Francis Content

Taylor & Francis partnered with ReadCube to introduce more than 4 million of its journal articles and book chapters to the ReadCube Discover service. The content will be viewable using ReadCube's web, desktop, or mobile app.

The British Library and the BnF Will Digitize Illuminated Manuscripts

The British Library and the Bibliotheque nationale de France (BnF) are working to digitize 800 illuminated manuscripts that were produced in Europe from 700 to 1200. During this period, scribes were able to move among England, France, and Normandy and wrote in Latin and French.

RedLink Network, from a public benefit company of the same name, connects libraries with academic publishers and allows them to share basic contact information and technical details of access credentials--for free.
