Six Choices for Challenging Patron Behaviors
by Steve Albrecht
In my live programs and online library service, safety, and security workshops, I'm often given a complex patron behavioral scenario and asked by an anxious staffer, "Did I do the right thing?" My answer is always a positive "yes," perhaps with a touch of helpful correction added in, because I know we cannot predict human behavior, and we especially can't predict eccentric, threatening, or potentially violent human behavior. As such, as I review the vast array of potential responses to a problematic patron, I believe we can boil them down to the six I discuss here. While not perfect, these six can give us a framework that helps.

What Can You Do With Zoho?

by Sophia Guevara
I recently received an offer for Zoho credits via email. I used Zoho a while ago, but I had decided to use Google Docs for most of my projects since then. After receiving the credits, I thought I'd give Zoho another try. I was impressed with all of the offerings it provides, including apps for customer relationship management (CRM), mail, and accounting, as well as other business-related solutions for sales, marketing, finance, human resources, etc.

Last Seen in Sea Isle by Jane Kelly (A Meg Daniels Mystery, #7)
Meg Daniels should know by now that wherever she goes, mystery follows. Her fiancé is taking classes at Stockton University and has befriended Grace Grant, a fellow later-in-life student. Under false pretenses, Grace asks Meg to visit her lavish beachfront house in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, on the same weekend she’s hosting a reunion of pals from the summer of 1969. Meg discovers that Grace is hoping she’ll track down Guy—last name unknown—who disappeared from Grace’s life on the day of the moon landing.
