A 2024 Pew Research Center Check-In
by Brandi Scardilli
NewsBreaks often covers recent surveys and reports from Pew Research Center, "a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world." Its website has 12 main topic sections, each showcasing the latest research, which is collected in reports, fact sheets, or other formats that extrapolate respondents' answers to cover the entire U.S. (or other) population. Here are some of the latest reports and other analyses from throughout 2024.

Inkleaf Takes On Library Operations: An Interview With John Blyberg
by Justin Hoenke
Inkleaf doesn't feel like just another product for librarians to consider and commit a chunk of their budget to. Sure, Inkleaf looks and feels like a system for librarians, but John Blyberg's passion for the platform he built came out through his words: "I want library workers to know they are important and deserve good software." To me, this doesn't sound like a CEO hoping that their next big product will deliver big fiscal results (even though I know that big fiscal results are nice too). This sounds like a human being and a library lover opening up their heart and soul to create and then deliver something that will actually help librarians in their day-to-day lives.

Last Seen in Sea Isle by Jane Kelly (A Meg Daniels Mystery, #7)
Meg Daniels should know by now that wherever she goes, mystery follows. Her fiancé is taking classes at Stockton University and has befriended Grace Grant, a fellow later-in-life student. Under false pretenses, Grace asks Meg to visit her lavish beachfront house in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, on the same weekend she’s hosting a reunion of pals from the summer of 1969. Meg discovers that Grace is hoping she’ll track down Guy—last name unknown—who disappeared from Grace’s life on the day of the moon landing.
