eLife's Research Advance Augments Published Articles

eLife introduced Research Advance, a new type of article that allows authors to publish results that add to their original research papers. With this article, authors can explain new developments and implications for their work by using about 1,500 words (not including methods) and up to four main figures, tables, or videos. Research Advance articles will be linked to the original papers, although they will be indexed and citable separately.

The editors and reviewers who worked on the research papers will typically review the corresponding Research Advance articles. The first articles are available here and here on eLife’s website.
