Wiley Introduces the Anywhere Article

Wiley recently launched the Anywhere Article, an enhanced HTML reading experience that emphasizes readability, interaction, and portability for users, across participating journal articles in the Wiley Online Library collection of multidisciplinary resources.

In response to user testing and feedback, Wiley introduced the Anywhere Article as an interactive and portable alternative to flat HTML or PDF articles for viewing and downloading. The Anywhere Article adjusts to different screen sizes, whether users are on smartphones, tablets, or desktops, and resizes an article’s content and functionality to match each device. This makes the most relevant information and data on each page easily accessible. An interactive sidebar provides citations, and a figure viewer enables browsing of all an article’s figures and navigating directly to any figure while reading.

“The communities we serve are as diverse as the research we publish and the Anywhere Article reflects that, because research is no longer restricted to the laboratory or the university library; portability must be an essential component of the user experience,” says Philip Carpenter, VP and managing director of Wiley’s research communications.

Wiley invites users to offer feedback and plans to add additional features to the Anywhere Article over the coming months.
