Westlaw Expands Government Affairs Resources
Thomson West (http://west.thomson.com) recently introduced a customized Government Affairs interface on Westlaw, with appropriate content organized around users' work flow. The January 2005 acquisition of NETSCAN made it possible for Thomson West to enhance its government affairs coverage. NETSCAN iPublishing (NETSCAN) publishes pending legislative and regulatory information to government affairs professionals and lobbyists. The new Westlaw interface is designed for government affairs specialists, corporate counsel, compliance officers, and lobbyists in associations, law firms, and corporations who need to stay current on pending legislation and regulations. Thomson West organized the new Westlaw content specifically around their work flow. Professionals will now find all the government affairs resources they need in one convenient place. With the new resource, Thomson West said that users can now more easily: - Identify trends in proposed legislation and regulations across all 50 states
- Track pending legislative and regulatory changes and analyze how proposed changes could impact the organization's business practices
- Shape government policy by influencing political processes and public opinion
- Ensure their organization's compliance with lobbying and campaign contribution regulations
