WebFeat Introduces Improved Federated Search Product
WebFeat (http://www.webfeat.org) has introduced WebFeat 3, a new version of its federated search product that offers new personalization capabilities called MyWebFeat. It also introduced new SMART technology, an advanced statistical reporting capability that is fully compliant with the new COUNTER Reporting Standard. The company says that WebFeat 3 evolved as a direct result of specific input from the WebFeat Users Group and other users across the country.MyWebFeat allows individuals to organize and display library databases in exactly the way they wish, creating subject categories to match their research needs. Users can modify the look and feel of their federated search environment by selecting presentation templates. And within MyWebFeat, they can manage the way results are returned, opting to save results of a single search or receive alerts that run at a frequency they set. Also new—and claimed to be unique in federated searching—WebFeat 3 gives users options for dynamic results display and management. Source: WebFeat
