W3C Gets New U.K. and Ireland Office

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) announced that the University of Southampton’s Web Science Institute will host its U.K. and Ireland office. The institute will help the W3C expand participation in activities, establish relationships with technology and policy leaders, and promote the adoption and implementation of W3C standards in these countries. It will also recruit and engage with members, develop educational programs about the W3C, and sponsor local events.
