VitalSource Bookshelf Maintains Accessibility Standards

Vital Source Technologies, Inc., Ingram Content Group’s etextbook solution, updated the accessibility features for its VitalSource Bookshelf platform. The company also agreed to provide an updated and independently reviewed Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) for each Bookshelf platform that documents its conformance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Vital Source Technologies conducts accessibility conformance testing on all versions of Bookshelf: the offline platform for Windows and Mac, the browser-based online offering, and the mobile platform for iOS and Android devices. Each version is compatible with screen reading programs such as JAWS and VoiceOver.
