Two Vendors Announce Links to JSTOR
H.W. Wilson announced that JSTOR, an archive of more than 320 scholarly journals, now joins the sources accessible via WilsonWeb's WilsonLink service. Customers who subscribe to WilsonWeb and who are JSTOR participants will be able to link directly to the full-text articles in the JSTOR archive via WilsonWeb's SFX-powered open-URL linking technology. WilsonWeb enables libraries to integrate their open-URL compliant resources—including JSTOR—without the expense of installing or maintaining their own link server.Ingenta, Inc. also announced a new reference linking initiative with JSTOR. This partnership allows for the seamless linking from references in Ingenta to the corresponding full text held in the various collections in JSTOR's archive, totaling 3.6 million reference links now active on ingenta.com and ingentaselect.com. Ingenta said this initiative demonstrates its continued commitment to increasing the number of reference resolution partners it offers, as well as to creating a comprehensive and seamless research experience online. JSTOR is an independent not-for-profit organization with a mission to create a trusted archive of authoritative scholarly journals and to extend access to these journals as broadly as possible. The JSTOR archive currently includes the entire back runs of 322 journals, and serves more than 1,600 participating libraries at colleges, universities, and research institutions in 74 countries.
