Thomson Reuters Eikon Monitors Tweets
The Thomson Reuters Eikon market analytics and trading software for financial professionals now includes news sentiment data and sentiment analysis of Twitter feeds.Charting applications use the new data to identify trends and potential signals and to predict breaking news’ impact on market prices. Twitter and StockTwits feeds provide data in real time that Eikon weights and analyzes, creating a picture of the volume of positive or negative tweets about companies. The feeds offer a cross-section of all activity as well as of identified key influencers. “With the addition of this sentiment data to Eikon we are combining our unique content and insight with innovative visualization and analytics tools. This is really just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what we plan to do to turn qualitative, unstructured text into quantitative and actionable insight for our customers,” says Philip Brittan, Thomson Reuters’ CTO and global head of its financial and risk platform.
