Thomson Reuters Closes Sale of Its Intellectual Property & Science Business

Thomson Reuters closed the sale of its Intellectual Property & Science business to Onex and Baring Private Equity Asia. They paid $3.55 billion in cash, about $1 billion of which Thomson Reuters plans to use to buy back shares and pay off some debt. This closing means the company is currently organized into three business units—Financial & Risk, Legal, and Tax & Accounting—in addition to Reuters
