Thomson Gale Introduces Small Business Resource Center
Thomson Gale (http://www.gale.com) announced the release of the new Small Business Resource Center. It is a comprehensive database offering content that covers the major areas of starting and operating a business, including accounting, finance, human resources, management, marketing, tax, and more. The company worked closely with an advisory board of public and academic librarians who serve small-business patrons. The Small Business Resource Center houses periodical and reference content for use by business students and current and future entrepreneurs—from conducting industry research to financial planning. Designed to be easy to search and highly intuitive, the new resource allows users to search subjects, keywords, or entire documents. They can also link directly to precompiled information based on popular business topics and types, to sample business plans, and to answers to the most frequently asked questions from a "How To" menu. The Small Business Resource Center includes titles from John Wiley & Sons; The Portable MBA in Strategy, second edition; The 7 Irrefutable Rules of Small Business Growth; The Portable MBA in Entrepreneurship; the entire Business Plans Handbook series; the Encyclopedia of Business Information Sources; and the Encyclopedia of Management and Small Business Management—A Framework for Success. It also includes a number of business journals—both specialty/vertical market and general business—such as Better Asset Management, Black Enterprise, Consumer Comments, Direct Marketing, Financial Management, The Tax Adviser, and more.
