The DPLA Adds Medical and Governmental Sources
The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) announced partnerships with the Medical Heritage Library (MHL) and the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO). Almost 60,000 items from the MHL and 148,000-plus items from the GPO are now discoverable via the DPLA.
The MHL provides digital rare books, serials, audio and video recordings, and other items related to the history of medicine, public health, biomedical sciences, and popular medicine from 1235 to 2014. Its collection is stored in the Internet Archive. The GPO’s items come from its Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (CGP), which is composed of records such as the federal budget, as well as laws, federal regulations, and congressional hearings.
