Talis Gateway Automates Library Transactions
Talis (http://www.talis.com) has launched an update to its Talis Gateway service to support the processing of invoice transactions, which completes the service's automation of the procurement life cycle. The new service complements the existing set of messages, which includes Quotes, Orders, Acknowledgements, Fulfilment, and Cataloguing. Libraries can now automate every step of the procurement process through the Talis Gateway.Talis removes the need for libraries to set up EDI (electronic data interchange) messages with individual suppliers. Instead, libraries send and receive all information via the Talis Gateway, which manages the integration with Talis accredited suppliers (two of which are Askews Library Services and Dawson Books). Talis is a provider of library management solutions for the U.K. and Ireland. Designed for the academic and public sectors, Talis' suite of products helps public authorities, universities, and colleges to manage their resources and provide users with easy access to that information. Talis said that Talis Gateway provides high levels of security and data integrity and that it is currently used by 90 libraries trading with approximately 70 suppliers.
