Swets Blackwell Launches New Web Subscription Service

Swets Blackwell, a provider of subscription and information management solutions, has announced the launch of SwetsWise, the company's new Web-based subscription service. SwetsWise will provide corporate users and information specialists with an online order and subscription management tool, together with back-end support via an experienced customer service network. The service became available in early July, following its preview at the Special Libraries Association Conference in June.

According to the announcement, SwetsWise is the culmination of intensive research, testing, and development efforts carried out with IBM, Swets Blackwell's technology partner, and represents Swets' fourth generation of information and subscription management. The service gives clients access to Swets Blackwell's online catalog, either directly via the Internet or through its existing e-procurement systems (such as Ariba, SAP, and Commerce One). SwetsWise provides full subscription management functionalities through such features as online ordering, renewing, canceling, and claiming, as well as order approval functions—features not available when e-procurement systems are used on their own. More information about SwetsWise can be found at http://www.swetsblackwell.com/swetswise.

Swets Blackwell offers solutions for the needs of its 60,000 corporate, academic, R&D, medical, and government library and information center clients worldwide. The company works in partnership with 65,000 major publishers and suppliers of professional information.
