Summon Discovery Service Adds Altmetrics

ProQuest and Altmetric partnered to integrate altmetrics into the Summon Service. Libraries that activate the integration will be able to display altmetric badges showing the broader impacts and popularity of articles in Summon results. Users can click on the badges to view the online shares, comments, and discussions surrounding individual research outputs, which are gathered from sources such as Wikipedia, blogs, social networks, reference managers, and online communities.

For more information, read the press release.
