Springer and Ex Libris Partner to Offer Content via Primo Central

Ex Libris Group has signed an agreement with Springer to make Springer’s leading academic journals and ebooks directly accessible via the Primo Central mega-aggregate of scholarly econtent. Springer, a premier global scientific publisher, is the latest to join the rapidly expanding group of publishers and aggregators who have chosen to make their content accessible to library users via Primo Central, a centralized index of data harvested from primary and secondary publishers and aggregators.

The world-class Primo Central Index is a mega-aggregate of scholarly content. Hosted by Ex Libris in a cloud computing environment, Primo Central is vendor-neutral and encompasses scholarly resources from leading information providers. Coupled with the Primo discovery and delivery solution, library users simultaneously explore the library’s local collections and Primo Central’s extensive global electronic collections and instantly retrieve accurate, relevance-ranked search results.

“Primo Central will be greatly enriched by this collaboration with Springer,” remarked Michal Gindi, publisher relations and research manager at Ex Libris. “SpringerLink is one of the most important research destinations for the academic community, and having its content indexed within Primo Central will provide a major boost for subscribing libraries around the world.”
