Springer Opens Up Conference Proceedings Data for Downloading
Springer Science+Business Media started a pilot project on linked open data by making available selected metadata from conference publications that focus on computer science. Semantically searchable data on about 8,000 proceedings volumes are now downloadable for free. Along with the University of Mannheim’s Data and Web Science Group and Net Wise, Springer is working to expand its list of cooperation partners and conference fields with open data, among other tasks. The project will help a variety of stakeholders, including conference organizers, national and institutional research agencies that provide project funding, and indexing services.
