SirsiDynix Updates Its BLUEcloud Suite and Increases Patrons' Shopping Options
SirsiDynix released a new module for its BLUEcloud Suite LSP: BLUEcloud Cataloging, which is designed to accommodate new media and technology, increase staff efficiency, and streamline the process of enhancing bibliographic data. The company will add features as it receives feedback on this new module. BLUEcloud Cataloging comes free with the BLUEcloud Suite LSP and as part of a library’s regular ILS maintenance.In other news, SirsiDynix introduced a Buy It Now feature for its Horizon Information Portal (HIP) and e-Library users that enables patrons to purchase books, movies, and other products from outside retailers via the library’s website or OPAC. When patrons choose the Buy It Now option from their search results, they are redirected to a library-branded storefront to find the items from e-retailers such as Amazon. This feature, part of SirsiDynix’s Community Funded Services, gives a portion of each Buy It Now purchase to the library. Buy It Now comes with no minimum requirements for HIP users and a minimum requirement of SP3 for e-Library users. It has no extra fees or costs associated with it. Source: SirsiDynix
