Sirsi Partners with Baker & Taylor

Sirsi Corp. announced a partnership with Baker & Taylor that is designed to improve Sirsi users' work flow in the acquisitions and cataloging processes by integrating Sirsi's Unicorn Library Management System with Baker & Taylor through Sirsi 9XX Loader and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). Librarians can now access the Baker & Taylor Web site, order materials, and download bibliographic records in one step—then upload the data into Unicorn.

The companies say the Sirsi 9XX Loader eliminates thousands of keystrokes and helps ensure data integrity. George Coe, president of Baker & Taylor Institutional, said: "Sirsi's 9xx Loader, which automatically creates local order records in Unicorn from data loaded from Baker & Taylor's Title Source family of products, represents an additional interface, which will offer mutual customers the most efficient way to receive and check in their orders through the Sirsi acquisitions system."

Baker & Taylor (http://www.btol.com) offers a wide range of products and services in the areas of collection management, cataloging services, and technical processing, developed during decades of service to the library industry. In 2004, Sirsi Corp. (http://www.sirsi.com) celebrates 25 years as the strategic technology partner to more than 10,000 libraries around the world.
