SilkRoad Acquires Enterprise Chat Company

SilkRoad Equity, LLC (http://www.silkroadequity.com) announced the acquisition of privately held Pendulab (http://www.pendulab.com), a provider of enterprise chat, marketing, and collaboration solutions. Financial details were not disclosed. Pendulab will partner immediately with SilkRoad technology, Inc., a SilkRoad Equity company, to integrate its solutions into SilkRoad technology's Collaboration Management Suite of Applications. Pendulab claims more than 1,000 customers worldwide.

SilkRoad's suite of collaborative applications includes Fuse, a Web-based project management application, and SilkBlogs, an enterprise blog solution. The Pendulab acquisition adds two new solutions to the suite. Chat Blazer Enterprise enables real-time communication via live chat, instant messaging, and corporate/enterprise IM, voice conferencing, Voice over IP, video, and other forms of rich media, with full multi-client capabilities around HTM, Java, Flash, and more. AffiliateShop is a one-stop marketing center. It provides an affiliate program management system, customer support solution, and an ad tracking ROI toolkit.

SilkRoad's products also include Eprise 2004, NetAnswer, and OpenHire. SilkRoad, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., was founded by CEO Andrew J. "Flip" Filipowski, the former founder and CEO of Divine, Inc., which had owned the Eprise technology before its bankruptcy in February 2003.
