Questel•Orbit Acquires DigiPat
Questel•Orbit (http://www.questelorbit.com) announced that it has acquired DigiPat (http://www.digipat.com), a company based in Alexandria, Va. DigiPat, which was founded in 1998 by patent attorneys, specializes in the delivery of U.S. and international patent and trademark documents in several formats, as well as providing offline research services. DigiPat's close proximity to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) allows it to obtain documents quickly and provide its clients with on-site representation at the USPTO.Questel•Orbit said the two companies have complementary offers in the IP information market; the acquisition allows Questel•Orbit to extend content and services to its international customer base. Charles Besson, Questel•Orbit's CEO, said: "This is a key element in our vertical integration strategy; [it] will allow our customers to order file histories directly from within our services." The company, in business for more than 30 years, provides a suite of patent and trademark services to executives, scientists, researchers, and competitive intelligence professionals.
