ProQuest and OCLC Partner for Library Discovery
ProQuest added more than 320 million records from the ProQuest Central cross-disciplinary research tool to OCLC’s WorldCat Discovery Services, a combination of OCLC’s FirstSearch and WorldCat Local that debuts in March. Subscribers to both ProQuest Central and WorldCat Discovery Services can now access the full text of these records using the discovery service they choose, according to Skip Prichard, OCLC’s president and CEO.The primary ProQuest Central database and 88 collections are available in WorldCat Discovery Services under the terms of a data exchange agreement ProQuest and OCLC signed in 2013. The agreement is designed to enhance library discovery for WorldCat Discovery Services users and ProQuest Central’s full-text journals, newspapers, magazines, dissertations, and other scholarly materials.
