ProQuest Links to Project MUSE Journals

ProQuest Information and Learning will link abstract and index records from its online databases with the full text of scholarly journals in Project MUSE, a collection of 220 peer-reviewed scholarly journals from 36 publishers in humanities and social sciences. Project MUSE is managed by The Johns Hopkins University Press in cooperation with the Milton S. Eisenhower Library.

The distribution agreement brings links to the full text of journals in Project MUSE to ProQuest online databases, including Literature Online, PCI-Full Text, International Index to Music Periodicals, and International Index to Performing Arts. ProQuest Information and Learning, a unit of ProQuest Co., creates and distributes databases for libraries and educational institutions worldwide. Project MUSE offers its journals online by subscription to educational institutions. The two services have agreed to provide links between their databases for institutions that subscribe to both services.

ProQuest supports OpenURL linking for both inbound and outbound links. ProQuest has established linking agreements with providers such as JSTOR, Swets, Ingenta, OCLC, and more. ProQuest supports linking via CrossRef, which enables access to content for more than 200 publishers. In addition, ProQuest proactively facilitates linking with all major link resolvers and A-Z journal list service providers, such as Serials Solutions (ArticleLinker, JournalLinker), ExLibris (SFX), Endeavor (LinkFinderPlus), Innovative Interfaces (WebBridge), TDNet, etc., and document retrieval services, such as Infotrieve and CISTI.
