Premerus Introduces Medical Misdiagnosis Portal

Premerus launched a web portal (www.yourmisdiagnosis.com) to help patients and their families address the impact of medical misdiagnosis. Billed "as the nation’s only company dedicated to advancing clinical accuracy through diagnostic excellence," Premerus provides a platform for consumers to read and post their own experiences to share insights about the impact of diagnostic errors on themselves, their families, and the American public.

"Medical misdiagnosis is a persistent problem," according to Norman Scarborough, M.D., medical director of the company. In the age of consumer interest and the need for education and information, Premerus’ portal is bridging the gap. The portal can help patients get in touch with specialists for more accurate diagnoses. For example, with the advent of teleradiology, geography is not a barrier to getting subspecialty interpretations since the scan can be sent digitally to a specialist in the field.
