Pew Publishes Report on News and Social Media

Pew Research Center’s Media & News division released a new report, “News Use Across Social Media Platforms 2016,” which finds that 62% of U.S. adults get news from social media networks, up from 49% in 2012. In terms of distribution by networks, 66% of Facebook users, 59% of Twitter users, 70% of reddit users, and 31% of Tumblr users get news from those sites. Only about one-fifth or less of users get news from the other social media sites named in the survey.

For more information, read the report’s summary.
