Organizations Introduce New Do Not Track Policy for Internet Browsing

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), along with a coalition of partners, introduced a stronger Do Not Track (DNT) policy standard for web browsing that aims to protect users from having their internet activity recorded. The policy works with ad-blocker and other technologies to ensure that users can opt out from online tracking.

“Our hope is that this new DNT approach will protect a consumer’s right to privacy and incentivize advertisers to respect user choice, paving a path that allows privacy and advertising to coexist,” says Casey Oppenheim, founder and CEO of Disconnect, one of EFF’s partners on this project.
