Open Library Foundation Supports Open Source Options for Libraries

The Open Library Foundation had its official launch. This organization will “promote open source projects for libraries and to foster and support contribution, distribution, and sustainability of the benefits of these projects,” according to FOLIO, a recently established community for developing an open source library services platform. As part of the foundation, librarians, developers, designers, service providers, and vendors will work with open source technologies to create new options for library services.
