OCLC Spearheads a Project to Update the Competency Index for the Library Field
OCLC announced that WebJunction—in partnership with the Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL), the Chief Officers of State Library Agencies (COSLA), and seven state libraries—received an IMLS grant to update the Competency Index for the Library Field, which “will help library staff strengthen their knowledge and skills in today’s evolving environment of AI-driven digital transformation, increased community service demands, and expanded workforce development responsibilities.” The project team plans to conduct a study of current library competencies and credentials and track how they are used. Project deliverables will be freely available via WebJunction. For more information, read the press release.
