OCLC Commissions Report on Library Funding Support
OCLC is partnering with the Public Library Association (PLA) and the ALA Office for Library Advocacy to update OCLC’s 2008 report, “From Awareness to Funding: A Study of Library Support in America.” Four library advisors, including PLA president Pam Smith, are guiding the research effort, and the Leo Burnett agency will conduct a national household survey. As in 2008, the focus will be on voter attitudes and perceptions about library funding, but this year, there will be questions on federal funding for libraries and additional response options related to library programs and services. OCLC plans to release the new report in early 2018.For more information, read the press release.
