News from SPARC
SPARC (the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) has produced and is distributing at no charge the new "SPARC Institutional Repository Checklist and Resource Guide," a manual detailing the issues that institutions and consortia need to address in implementing an institutional repository. The publication is available at http://www.arl.org/sparc/IR/IR_Guide.html and may be printed out and distributed freely.SPARC also announced its partnership with The Review of Economic Theory (RET), a new journal published by the nonprofit, U.K.-based ELectronic Society for Social Scientists (ELSSS). The new RET competes with the commercial Journal of Economic Theory, which has an annual subscription rate of $2,228 (U.S.). RET will cost $350, and is offered free to countries with developing and transition economies. The partnership marks SPARC's entrance into the social sciences. Source: SPARC
