NPG-Palgrave Macmillan Survey Shows Perceptions of OA Publishing

Nature Publishing Group (NPG) and Palgrave Macmillan released the findings from a survey of 22,000 academic researchers. They show a growing confidence in the quality of open access (OA) publications.

“In 2014, 40% of scientists who had not published open access in the last three years said ‘I am concerned about perceptions of the quality of OA publications’. But this year, only 27% said they were concerned,” notes BioMed Central’s Kam Arkinstall in a blog post announcing the findings. However, about 5% of respondents are still unaware of OA as a publishing option.
