NISO Plus Global/Online Adds Its Closing Keynote Speaker
NISO (National Information Standards Organization) announced the closing keynote speaker for its NISO Plus Global/Online 2026 conference: Jeff Jarvis, Emeritus Tow Professor of Journalism Innovation at CUNY’s Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, a visiting professor at Stony Brook University, and a distinguished fellow at Montclair State University. His latest book is Hot Type: The Magnificent Machine That Gave Birth to Mass Media and Drove Mark Twain Mad (Bloomsbury, 2026). Jarvis will speak on Sept. 17 at 3:15 p.m. EDT.“At this critical moment in the history of the information community, he’s an ideal speaker for a conference exploring ways to address how new technologies are shaping the future of scholarly publishing.
