NISO Plans Privacy-Focused Conference for Sept. 16

NISO (National Information Standards Organization) is hosting Privacy in the Age of Surveillance: Everyone’s Concern, a 1-day virtual conference, on Sept. 16, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT. Sessions will include Necessary Protections of Privacy (from Mark Seeley, principal at SciPubLaw), NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Privacy Framework Version 1.0 (from Dylan Gilbert, privacy policy advisor at NIST), Building Privacy Infrastructure—An Academic Library’s Perspective (from Emily Singley, head of library systems and data security officer at Boston College Libraries), and Navigating Privacy and Assessment (from Qiana Johnson, interim associate university librarian for collections strategies at Northwestern University).
