NISO Plans 2023 Humanities Roundtable for June 20

NISO (National Information Standards Organization) shared the following message with the subscribers to its email list:

Join us for NISO’s 2023 Humanities Roundtable!

NISO’s Humanities Roundtable is back for 2023! Join us for this popular event developed in collaboration with a committee of stakeholders from across the information community.

VIRTUAL CONFERENCE
2023 Humanities Roundtable
Tuesday, June 20, 2023
10:30 am–4:30 pm EDT (US/Canada)

The event will carry forward the tradition of its previous 20 years by drawing on the expertise of scholarly associations, university presses, librarians, and scholars to provide participants with a day of exciting discussions around the needs of those working in these critical disciplines.

This year’s program takes on two timely topics critical to the humanities: the challenges surrounding the transition to open access, especially through the lenses of funding, equity, and ethics, and how emerging technologies can help or complicate our approach to those challenges. In addition to thought-provoking keynotes and expert panels, the event will also feature breakout discussions so that all attendees can weigh in as we consider these issues and their ramifications for the future of the humanities.

Check out our event page for updates on the program and speakers! And special thanks to our event sponsors, EBSCOMLABowker, and Project MUSE, whose support helps us to keep registration affordable for all!

Register here. Discounts are available for NISO Voting Members/LSA Members as well as for students, retirees, and anyone who is currently unemployed. Recordings will be available for those who cannot attend any part of the live broadcast.

Best,
The NISO Team
