Mozilla Launches Firefox 1.0 Browser
The Mozilla Foundation (http://www.mozilla.org) launched its free open source browser, Firefox 1.0. The company says that more than 8 million people downloaded the Preview Release made available a month earlier. Features in Firefox 1.0 include integrated pop-up blocking, online fraud protection, integrated support for search services in the toolbar (including Google, Yahoo!, Amazon, eBay, etc.), Tabbed Browsing (which allows multiple pages to load in the same window), and a new Live Bookmarks feature that allows users to glance through the latest news and blog headlines.The Mozilla Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving choice and promoting innovation on the Internet. Firefox 1.0 is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux as a free download from mozilla.org and by CD from the Mozilla Store.
