MicroPatent Upgrades Aureka Software

MicroPatent, a subsidiary of Information Holdings, Inc. and a full-service intellectual property solutions provider, announced the release of Aureka 9.1. This new version of the Aureka software has improved analysis, search, and management capabilities. Aureka consists of five main areas: research, clustering, concept mapping (ThemeScape), citation analysis/trees, and reporting. Users can search within the system or import patent and nonpatent information, and then perform analysis functions on the data.

Aureka 9.1 enhancements include the following:

  • The addition of German DE-T and DE-U documents
  • Behind-the-scenes searching while complex queries are run
  • Deduplication/expansion of document lists by patent family
  • The combination of document lists with Boolean and other operators
  • A Power Browse review for quickly scanning document lists
  • ThemeScape mapping of delimited corporate documents
  • Foreign citations that are available in citation trees and reports
  • IPC code coloration in citation trees
  • Improved importing of folder hierarchies and lists
  • The ability to import various patent-number formats
  • Faster document/list download and printing
  • The ability to track individual user usage
  • The allowance of user deletions
  • Additional security features, including write-protection and hidden from view
