Library Publishing Coalition Formally Debuts
The LPC (Library Publishing Coalition) had its official launch as an independent, community-led membership association with the goals of furthering the interests of library publishers and supporting a range of publishing practices. Academic and research libraries in the U.S. and Canada are now invited to join. Member libraries can collaborate on projects, share their knowledge, and network with libraries and publishers (especially university presses). They can also vote in LPC board elections, serve in LPC leadership positions, receive members-only emails, and receive special registration prices for LPC events, among other benefits. The LPC operates as an affiliated community of the nonprofit Educopia Institute, which helps libraries and cultural memory institutions advance shared information systems and infrastructures and create new means of digital preservation.
